Can you believe 10 years has gone by since the night Sabah's former Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Sakaran Bin Dandai, stood on the stage in Dataran Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu, to announce that Kota Kinabalu had achieved the status of a city.
Now, our council had planned a lot of activities and events to celebrate the occasion. One of it is the Kota Kinabalu International City Parade. Here's some more information on the event I got from Sabah Tourism Board's website.

Amongst the main highlights of the month-long celebration will be the Kota Kinabalu International City Street Parade, to be held on the 6th February 2010 along the Promenade Boulevard, Kota Kinabalu. The street parade will focus on Malaysian and International Cultural Performance, where top notch dance troupes from Korea, Brunei, Melaka, Pahang and Sarawak are expected to join the best dancers from Sabah Cultural Board.
This event is also expected to be joined by local dance troupes who will also showcase Sabah's famous and well-known diversity of indigenous dances and music. The event also features several prominent artists like Stacy AF6 and Adam AF2 who will be entertaining the crowd with their contemporary renditions. The parade is scheduled to begin at 7.00 pm and continues to hit up the street with colourful dances and crowd until midnight. For more information, please call Ms. Johaini Jungkit at 088-521800.
